CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE - what to do
Currently at Hawthorne Clinic, we are trying to accurately diagnose those people who may be infected with COVID-19 and to prevent spread of the virus to others.
You will be asked additional questions at the time of booking and when checking in to reception to determine your level of risk.
Our self check-in kiosk will not be available to facilitate correct triage of at risk patients. You will also notice this sign when you approach the entrances to our practice.
Depending on the level to which you are deemed to be at risk, you:
will be asked to wear a mask and you may also be asked to isolate to a separate room to wait for a doctor.
will be sent for testing if you are thought to be at risk of being infected.
may be asked to attend a specialised facility for medical care or to consider utilising a telephone consultation with one of our doctors. This will help alleviate the demand on the doctors at the clinic and to decrease the risk to our other patients with complex medical issues.
How can you help us ?
Please inform reception at time of booking if you have travelled recently or if you are unwell.
Please follow instructions regarding what to do if you are at risk and need to attend the practice (you will be triaged accordingly).
Please follow instructions regarding testing and self-isolation or social distancing.
Please practice good hygiene: wash your hands with soap and water, use a tissue, cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze, avoid close contact with others.
If your regular GP is unavailable in your desired timeframe, please consider seeing another GP at the practice.
Please check our website frequently for further information and practice news.
